Double Glazing Paisley, Paisley Windows And Doors

If your home in Paisley has older windows or doors, you have probably noticed the signs by now. Draughts creeping in around the frames, condensation sitting on the glass every morning, heating bills that seem too high for the size of your house, and that nagging feeling that the locks on the front door are not really up to much. These are all common problems, and they all have a straightforward fix.

Solving Draughts and Heat Loss

Old single glazed windows or early double glazing that has failed will let warm air out and cold air in. You end up turning the heating up to compensate, and the rooms still feel chilly near the windows. New A-rated double glazed or triple glazed units make a real difference to how your home feels day to day.

The uPVC frames we fit are reinforced and built to sit tight in the opening, with proper seals that do not degrade quickly. Triple glazing goes one step further, with three panes of glass and two insulating chambers that keep heat inside during a Scottish winter. If your energy bills are a concern, upgrading your glazing is one of the most effective things you can do.

We fit double and triple glazed windows in a range of styles, including casement, sash, and tilt-and-turn, so the finished result suits your home rather than looking out of place.

Better Security for Your Home

Security is something a lot of homeowners think about more as their doors and windows get older. Frames can warp over time, locking points weaken, and older door designs simply do not offer the protection that modern products do. A new composite door or multi-point locked uPVC door is a significant upgrade in that respect.

Composite doors are made from a solid timber core wrapped in a tough outer skin, so they are dense and hard to force. They fit precisely in the frame, with no flex or movement that an intruder could exploit. The multi-point locking systems we install engage at several points around the door when you turn the key, which is far more secure than a single deadbolt.

French doors and patio doors also come with multi-point locking as standard. If you have an older patio door with a simple hook lock, replacing it will give you a noticeably more secure back of house.

Dealing with Condensation

Condensation between the panes of glass is a sign that the seal on your existing unit has broken down. Once that happens, the insulating gas inside the unit escapes and the glass loses much of its thermal performance. It is not something that can be repaired. The unit needs replacing.

New double glazed units are sealed with warm edge spacer bars and filled with argon gas, which is a poor conductor of heat. This keeps the inner pane warmer, which significantly reduces the chance of condensation forming on the inside surface of the glass. If your windows are misting up regularly, it is a clear sign that new glazing is overdue.

Condensation on the inside of your windows, rather than between the panes, is usually a ventilation issue rather than a glazing problem. We can talk that through with you when we come out to quote, and point you in the right direction.

Our Fitting Team and How Long It Takes

Every installation is carried out by experienced fitters who know what they are doing and take care of your home while they are working in it. We manage the job from the first measure right through to the final tidy up, so you are not left trying to chase different people or work out what happens next.

From the point of order, we aim to have your installation completed within ten weeks. That includes the manufacturing lead time for your products, which are made to measure for your specific openings. We keep you informed along the way so you know when to expect us.

A Guarantee You Can Rely On

Every product we supply and fit comes with a full ten year guarantee. That covers the frames, the glass units, the door panels, and the hardware. If something is not right, you call us and we sort it. It is as straightforward as that. Buying new windows and doors is not a small decision, and we think it is important that you have proper cover behind you for the long term.

All our products are A-rated for energy efficiency, and we provide free, no-obligation quotes to homeowners across Paisley and the surrounding areas. There is no pressure, just a straightforward conversation about what your home needs.

To arrange your free quote, call us today on 0141 310 3249. We are happy to answer any questions before you commit to anything.
